Community Involvement

Maple Plain Firefighters go above and beyond our core services and add additional value to our community.  Many times Maple Plain Firefighters can be seen doing the following for our community.

Ice Rink Flooding

Each year, firefighters assist community members in delivering water for the initial flooding of Maple Plain’s Ice rink at Rainbow Park.

Water Transport for Community Gardens

Each summer Firefighters transport water to local cemeteries and the Maple Plain Community Garden for community members to use on flowers at the cemetery or veggies at the garden

American Legion

Maple Plain Fire Department partners with the American Legion to provide storage for their equipment as well as provide a location for their annual flag burning ceremony in conjunction with the Fire Department Open House each year.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Maple Plain Fire Fighters hang Christmas lights on the large pine tree outside of the Fire Station each year.  This lighting provides the community with the Christmas cheer and provides a touch of the season to the city of Maple Plain.

Public Flagpole Repair

Maple Plain Firefighters have assisted public buildings and apartment buildings with re-stringing flag poles by using our Aerial Ladder Truck to keep Old Glory Flying high!

Police vs Fire Softball Game

As part of Maple Plain Days, Maple Plain Firefighters enjoy a friendly game of Softball against our friends from West Hennepin Public Safety.  This event provides a chance for the community to interact and allow us to visit with our faithful supporters!

Chain Gain for Orono Football

Maple Plain Fire provides a crew to every home Orono Football Game and runs the chain markers for the football game.  This service to the community has zero cost to the taxpayers and allows Maple Plain Fire Fighters to give back to our local school district by providing this service to our student athletes.

Silent Auction Donations

Maple Plain Fire provides gift certificates to local organizations holding fund raisers.  These gift certificates can be redeemed for a fire truck ride to school, Birthday Party at the fire station or Lunch with the Fire Chief.  If you have an upcoming event and would like a gift certificate for one of these services please contact us!
